We stayed in this hotel for a volleyball tournament. Regardless of what you book, they do not guarantee a specific room type. We reserved and paid for a non-smoking room back in December and our stay was in April. For 4 months they had my reservation and money and when we got there they were out of non-smoking rooms. Then they put us in a room with one king bed when our reservation was for 4. I even had a conversation with the girl at the front desk about the fact that there were only 3 of us now. Then they tell us they can send up an ozone cleanser......they forgot to mention that you couldn't be in the room while it was working. So we scheduled it for the next day. I swear when we came back our room smelled more like smoke than it did when we left. I definitely will never stay at this hotel again. They basically didn't care....we'd already paid and we couldn't cancel our reservation so they had no motivation to fix anything. My only other dealins with Harrah’s was in Tahoe and it was a bad experience as well. Harrah’s has not impressed me.

I've stayed at Harrah's in Vegas many times and this casino did not dissapoint. Very clean, nice room, (although a bit small - 375 sq feet). Still, got a great price, (76 bucks per night early week). Harrah's is downtown (a little run down with a few street people but still safe). Got a little torqued off because Harrahs' buffet closes down for breakfast and lunch Tue and Wed during off season. No problem because a much nicer casino and great buffet at low cost was just across the street at Eldorado. Ate there for dinner and two breakfasts (breakfast cost only * bucks!!). If you stay downtown make sure you get a car (great rates!!). You'll need it to go to Lake Tahoe or Yosemite like I did. Also comes in handy for other even better casinos like Atlantis and Peppermill just south about 5 miles. Box office opened at 3 PM which was unacceptable. Except for Buffet and Box office a very nice place to stay (with plenty of parking too). Oh, and staff was very helpful.

A very nice, clean, quiet, room although a little on the smallish side, (about 375 square feet). The price with tax in upgraded West Tower was * bucks (not bad at all). Location of Harrah's is downtown. Not exactly the nicest part of Reno (saw several street people hanging out but they minded their own business). Didn't gamble at all in Harrahs (too warm). There are a few casinos in walking distance (a block or two). My favorite was Eldorado right across the street. Great Buffet and very good prices (only * bucks for breakfast and * bucks for dinner during the week). Couldn't have breakfast or lunch at Harrahs during my stay (they close it during slow season on Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Kind of torqued me off, but had a great buffet at El Dorado right across the street. If you stay downtown get a rental car to visit even nicer Casinos like Peppermill and nearby Atlantis (about 4 or 5 miles South), or a trip to Yosemite (5.5 hours away), or a trip to Lake Tahoe. Ticket counter for shows opened up at 3 PM (Unbelievable). Overall though a nice play to stay (if you have wheels).

The room had all the necessary amenities for the price including a hair dryer, ironing board and iron, and heat lamp in the bath room. It's recently been refurbished. There was no fridge or microwave but I wouldn't expect those in this type of hotel. There was no free wi-fi and some nickle-and-dime charges (like for making outgoing 1-800 calls) but again, for the room price, I could easily make choices about what extras I wanted to pay for. The food was terrific, reasonably priced and available 24 hours. The staff were pleasant, the room was reasonably quiet, and I had a nice view out my window. What more could I want for the price?
